You know how it feels to go through a season of spiritual dryness, right? You know how it feels to wander away from the Lord for a time and back into your old ways of thinking and old patterns of living, right? Have you ever looked at your Bible sitting on your desk or bed-side table and then realized that you have no idea when you last picked that thing up? First of all, if we’re being honest, we all know exactly how that feels because we’ve all been there. You’re not alone. One of the most basic truths about walking with the Lord is that we all go through ups and downs in our spiritual life. The enemy wants you to think that you’re never allowed to have a bad day or else you’re not really a Christian. The enemy wants you to think that if you have a dry season or a time where you’re down and fall back, that Jesus no longer wants you. The enemy wants you to turn an off day into an off week by telling you that Jesus thinks you have failed at life, but none of it is true. We all have dry spells, we all backslide and Jesus not only understands, but He loves us through the off days and is wooing us back. There is a place in Luke 15 where Jesus told three stories about people who lost something, got it back and threw a huge party to celebrate. When you decide you miss Jesus, and you want Him back and you pray to Him or open up your Bible, He goes crazy! All of heaven rejoices because it’s party time. Jesus always understands your heart.
